LUNCHEON MEETING BETWEEN ASEAN KOREA CENTRE (AKC) & MINISTRY OF TOURISM, ARTS AND CULTURE (MOTAC)

July 24 2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) | YBhg. Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman, Secretary-General of Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) graciously accepted the invitation to a luncheon meeting hosted by the ASEAN Korea Centre (AKC), led by TYT Encik Kim Jae-Shin at the Cili Kampung restaurant, KLCC. This visit by the ASEAN Korea Centre delegation to MOTAC coincides with the upcoming ‘Harnessing Local Potential: Best Practices in Community-Based Tourism Development’ workshop, held from 25 to 27 July 2024, in Kuala Terengganu.

Both parties expressed their appreciation for the collaborative efforts in organizing the workshop in Malaysia that focuses on capacity building for tourism industry players, particularly in Community-Based Tourism (CBT). Additionally, discussions were held to improve connectivity between ASEAN and Korea, as well as to strengthen bilateral relations between Malaysia and Korea.

The ASEAN Korea Centre delegation was also taken to visit the sky bridge and the observation deck on the 86th floor of KLCC to enjoy the stunning panorama of Kuala Lumpur from above the clouds. Also present at the luncheon meeting were Ms. Yong Ee Chin, Undersecretary of the Tourism Policy and International Affairs Division MOTAC, and Mr. Roslan Abdullah, Director of the International Promotion (Southeast Asia) Division, Tourism Malaysia.
