Kualalumpur, 26/02/2025 : On February 15, 2025, a momentous event took place at the Jeffrey Cheah Auditorium, marking the first-ever musical of SBNA Performing Arts’ pioneering Bharatanatyam Dance Musical, Beauty and the Beast. Roopam Viroopam – presented by 64 dancers, which captivated the audience with its breathtaking choreography, mesmerizing music, and stunning visuals, was held before a full house of 600 spectators, each eager to witness this unique fusion of classical dance and storytelling.
But the magic didn’t stop there. On February 23, 2025, the highly anticipated screening was brought to life once again—this time, at the Lotus Five Star Cinema in PJ, Malaysia. The second screening was a special occasion, dedicated to SBNA’s performers, the invaluable supporting crew, and their family members.
This screening wasn’t just a showcase of remarkable artistic talent, but a celebration of collaboration and dedication. A heartfelt tribute was paid to Dr. Sanjay and the talented disciples from Shivapriva School of Dance, whose contributions helped elevate the performance to its highest form. Special thanks also went to the KRSS crew for their impeccable work with sound, lighting, and filming, ensuring every moment of the show was captured flawlessly. Kesavan Era’s exceptional photography work truly encapsulated the spirit of the performance, and a warm nod of appreciation goes to Velindran, the charismatic MC, whose energy helped bring it all together.
SBNA Performing Arts has set a new benchmark for the performing arts community, blending traditional dance with modern cinematic elements. This innovative production of Beauty and the Beast was not only a tribute to the art of Bharatanatyam but also a testament to the power of collaboration, perseverance, and passion within the performing arts.
